Lentil Bolognese Sauce - basic recipe


















I just love this sauce with rice, potatoes, or pasta. I used to love tofu Bolognese sauce and this is an awesome alternative! You can still get creative and add other vegetables :)





Ingredients (1 person)

  • 1 medium-sized onion(chopped + peeled)
  • 2 cloves of garlic (chopped + peeled)
  • 80 grs of dry lentils 
  • 2 tbsps of tomato paste
  • 1 can of tomatoes (best if salt-free)
  • black pepper
  • a pinch of curry
  • a pinch of chili
  • 1 heaped tbsp of oregano
  • optional: a pinch of sea salt

How to make it:

1. steam the onion and the garlic in a pot with a tiny little bit of water for about 3 mins
2. Add in the lentils and the tomato paste, stir and fry for 1 more minute.
3. Add canned tomatoes plus some water and cook for 15 mins. (you might have to add more water during the coking process)
4. in the end, add oregano, curry and chili to your sauce and season with pepper and salt.5. Enjoy with potatoes, pasta or rice :)
